Welcome to the CentOS 6.0 release. CentOS is an Enterprise-class Linux Distribution derived from sources freely provided to the public by our Upstream OS Provider (UOP)1.

CentOS conforms fully with the upstream vendor's redistribution policy and aims to be 100% binary compatible. (CentOS mainly changes packages to remove upstream vendor branding and artwork.)

CentOS 6.0 represents many changes from previous releases.

CentOS 6.0 has been completely rebuilt using a newer build system and library checks to confirm upstream binary compatibility.

We have decided not to follow the UOP's usage of Installation Codes. All 'channels' are available to the System Administrator at time of installation.

Please read through the other sections before trying an install or reporting an issue.

The CentOS team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of CentOS-6.0 for i386 and x86_64 Architectures.

CentOS-6.0 is based on the upstream release EL 6.0 and includes
packages from all variants. All upstream repositories have been combined into one, to make it easier for end users to work with.

There are some important changes to this release compared with the previous versions of CentOS and we highly recommend reading this announcement along with the Release Notes.

There are no CD images being released with CentOS-6, however we have some CD variants in the pipeline.

Since upstream has a 6.1 version already released, we will be using a Continous Release repository for 6.0 to bring all 6.1 and post 6.1 security updates to all 6.0 users, till such time as CentOS-6.1 is released itself.

LiveCDs and LiveDVDs for i386 and x86_64 will be released the
next few days. These will bring in the ability to directly install from the live media.

There will also be a minimal install CD, that would bring up a base
machine with just enough content to have a usable platform.

In order to bring back the CentOS-4 Server CD style single iso image, an LWS variant of the main distro will be created.

In producing 'Soul Machine' we have tried as accurately as possible to re-create those wonderful chords and classic grooves for the modern day producer, so if you are looking for a more musical collection of Soul/RnB loops, this is the real deal.

Featuring bass lines, piano loops, rhodes loops, MIDI guitar loops for acoustic and electric styles, and synth loops in various styles including bendy moogs, funky polyphonic hooks and floaty/ambient style progressions. You'll find 80 MIDI loops ranging from 2 - 16 bars in length.

In addition to this, the pack also contains 7 MIDI construction kits. These kits contain all the melodic MIDI parts for each of the 7 tracks we created for the production of our preview track, that's everything you hear, including the guitars, (which are also MIDI). Drum beats are not included.
